Gütersloh (dpa / lnw) - In North Rhine-Westphalia, the mutated variant B.1.351 of the coronavirus from South Africa has again been detected.

The Gütersloh district announced on Monday that a family was affected who became infected through private contact with travelers returning from South Africa.

The South Africa variant of the corona virus was detected for the first time in North Rhine-Westphalia in a family from Bottrop last week.

The circle emphasized that the infected people are not return travelers.

Those affected are in isolation.

No other cases are known to date.

All contact persons have been tested.

The circle is in contact with them.
