Fürstenfeldbruck (dpa / lby) - Fresh snow and slippery roads have led to many traffic obstructions and accidents on Sunday and Monday night in Upper Bavaria.

The Fürstenfeldbruck police registered a total of 17 accidents with eight slightly injured and one seriously injured within 24 hours, according to a press release on Monday morning.

In the other regions of the Free State, according to the respective police spokesman, it remained "unusually quiet".

The Autobahn 8 was particularly affected, where four accidents occurred on Sunday between the Odelzhausen and Sulzemoos junctions.

There was a seriously injured man shortly before midnight at the Eschenried triangle (Dachau district).

A tractor-trailer had crashed into the lane divider - the tractor was positioned across the road.

To rescue the man, the A8 in the direction of Munich and the A99 in the direction of Salzburg were closed until the early hours of the morning.

There had already been several crashes in the area before.

A driver lost control of her car on the muddy road and skidded over the lanes.

An approaching car driver could not evade and collided with the woman's car.

Both were taken to hospital with minor injuries.

In the other regions of Bavaria, the police registered "very few to no accidents" by early Monday morning.

Here and there there were a few cars that went off the lane - but initially there were no injuries.
