Düsseldorf (dpa / lnw) - In the corona pandemic in North Rhine-Westphalia, an important indicator fell slightly, but it remains at a high level.

In the past seven days there have been 121 new infections per 100,000 inhabitants in the state, according to information from the Robert Koch Institute (RKI) on Monday morning.

In the previous days, the so-called seven-day incidence had been higher - last Tuesday, for example, it was a value of 148.6.

The current incidence in the national average is still a long way from the target mark 50.

The value is worst in Bielefeld, where the seven-day incidence is 283.1.

There is no longer any further value above the 200 threshold in the NRW table: Bottrop was also above it for a long time, which is no longer the case at 194.8.

As recently as Wednesday, eight districts and independent cities in North Rhine-Westphalia had passed the 200 mark.

In Düsseldorf, with an incidence of 55.5, it looks the least serious in the country.

In addition, the health authorities reported 32 further Covid-19 deaths for North Rhine-Westphalia, which means that 9,123 people have died of or with the virus since the outbreak of the pandemic.

The number of infections rose within 24 hours by 1,117 to a total of around 452,000, of which 385,800 are now considered to have recovered.

Around 57,000 cases are currently rated as “active” in the state, which is 2,400 fewer than before.
