Vechta (dpa / lni) - After the first chicken meat produced in a laboratory in a restaurant in Singapore in December, business ethicist Nick Lin-Hi sees it as the greatest innovation in human nutrition for two million years.

"In the future we will produce meat without animals," said Lin-Hi, who teaches at the University of Vechta, of the German press agency dpa.

Meat production in the laboratory is more sustainable than classic animal fattening.

And if these products are already regularly available in a country, the corresponding range should grow quickly.

On the other hand, he sees the German food industry rather poorly positioned on this issue.
