Berlin (dpa / bb) - A church service in a small Berlin congregation with far more than 170 people has been canceled in Berlin due to massive violations of the Corona rules.

In a hall of the parish between Koloniestrasse and Soldiner Strasse in Berlin-Gesundbrunnen, 170 adults and other children were found by the police on Sunday evening around 7.45 p.m., a police spokeswoman said on Monday.

The people had neither worn masks nor kept their distance.

A hygiene concept and attendance lists were also missing.

The pastor stated that a small church service was actually planned, but the number of visitors then increased.

The police filed charges of administrative offenses against more than 100 people.

The police did not say which municipality it was.

It was only on Saturday evening that the police ended a wedding celebration very close, also in Gesundbrunnen.

A caller had made the police aware of the company of 60 people in an apartment on Badstrasse.

All personal details as well as 56 violations of infection protection were noted.

"Significantly more people met here than from someone else's household," said the police.
