Neustadt-Glewe (dpa / mv) - In the Neustadt-Glewe (Ludwigslust-Parchim) region, several hundred private letters were not delivered, but disposed of in waste paper.
In this context, it is now being investigated on suspicion of breaching postal secrecy, as a police spokesman said on Monday.
A witness found the discarded post along with around 100 other disposed catalogs with addresses in a paper container next to the fire brigade in Neustadt-Glewe on Friday.
In the meantime, the post has returned to Deutsche Post, which it now wants to distribute.
Swiss Post is also looking for the cause.
The amount of damage is still unclear.
