Berlin (dpa) - Master coach Aito García Reneses has taken over training at Bundesliga basketball team Alba Berlin more than three weeks after his corona infection.
"Thank you for your encouragement," wrote the 74-year-old Spaniard on Monday on Twitter.
Shortly after Christmas, the news of the infection caused a shock to the German master.
After the positive results at Aito, the Bundesliga away game at Syntainics MBC in Weißenfels had to be canceled at short notice.
Aito was represented in his absence by his assistant Israel Gonzalez.
On Wednesday (7 p.m. / Magentasport), Alba Berlin and the Braunschweig lions meet in the BBL Cup.
On Sunday, the capital club won the league game against Lower Saxony with 82:76.
If the defending champion from Berlin wins, he is in the final tournament of the last four.
It was initially unclear whether the recovered coach García Reneses would be there.
