Durov noted that Telegram representatives acted decisively to suppress violence in American Telegram channels.
“Thanks to these efforts, last week our moderators blocked hundreds of public calls for violence that could reach tens of thousands of subscribers,” he said.
Durov said that the Telegram team continues to process complaints from users and remove content that contains direct calls to violence.
On January 6, a protest rally of supporters of the current US President Donald Trump took place in Washington, which turned into riots.
The demonstrators broke into the building of the Congress, where the procedure for approving the results of the presidential elections was taking place.
The riots killed five people.
