Overath (dpa / lnw) - Children playing have found four American hand grenades from the Second World War in a forest in Overath near Cologne.
The grenades lay under leaves on the forest floor.
Fortunately, the children became suspicious of the find on Saturday evening and alerted the police, said a spokeswoman for the fire department on Monday.
The munitions disposal service of the Düsseldorf district government blew up the grenades on Sunday morning.
