Berlin (dpa / bb) - Berliners should still be able to choose which vaccine they prefer.
The freedom of choice arises simply from the vaccination management in the city, said Health Senator Dilek Kalayci (SPD) on Monday in the health committee of the House of Representatives.
"What speaks against it, if you know that there is vaccine XY in this vaccination center, that you can then also act on it?" Asked the Senator.
"I will make no secret of which vaccine is being vaccinated in which vaccination center."
It goes without saying that the people who want to be vaccinated will also decide on a specific vaccine with the vaccination center.
“We now have this plain, simple sorting vaccination center equals vaccine. It can become more complex later on because we have several vaccines in one vaccination center, ”said Kalayci. The vaccine from Biontech and Pfizer is currently being used in the vaccine center in the arena in Treptow and in the one on the exhibition grounds, while the vaccine from the US manufacturer Moderna is used in the vaccine center in the Erika-Heß ice stadium in Wedding. A different situation arises if vaccinations are also carried out in the doctor's offices. However, this is only planned for a later vaccination phase.
