Berlin (dpa / bb) - Alba Berlin has celebrated a hard-won work victory in the basketball Bundesliga.

On Sunday the Berliners won the Basketball Löwen Braunschweig despite a tired performance with 82:76 (51:43).

After the ninth win in the tenth league game, Alba remains fourth in the table.

The best throwers from Berlin were Simone Fontecchio with 16 and Louis Oilnde with 13 points.

At Alba, Marcus Eriksson also celebrated his comeback after an injury break.

The only thing missing was Captain Niels Giffey.

And coach Aito Garcia Reneses is also still recovering from his corona infection.

Both teams started offensively with a lot of momentum.

Especially the three-point throws fell.

After the German champions quickly took the lead, the hosts equalized again by the end of the first quarter (26:26).

In the second section, the Berliners acted better defensively.

With an 11-0 run they were able to break away a bit.

Braunschweig was no longer so easy to get points.

So Alba was able to keep the lead, shortly before the break it was even double-digit for the first time (51:41).

But after the break, the ball losses and missed throws increased with the Berliners.

The level of the game fell and Braunschweig came closer again.

Because the hosts also missed many opportunities, Alba held the lead.

With 25.9 seconds to go, Maodo Lo made the final score close.
