Yesterday, Sunday, a huge meteor larger than the Empire State Building passed safely by the Earth, coinciding with the last days of Donald Trump's presidency, according to Newsweek.

In this report, which was published by the American magazine "Newsweek", the writer Aristos Giorgio said that this meteorite was called 65717 "1993 BX3 65717 (1993 BX3)."

According to the data mentioned by the author, the date for the meteor’s passage next to planet Earth was 3:49 am Eastern Time (ET) on January 17, that is, 3 days before the inauguration of President-elect Joe Biden, according to what was reported. The Center for the Study of Near-Earth Objects of the US Space Agency "NASA".

According to the "Space Reference.org" website (spacereference.org), on January 17th, it approached the "Close Approache" with a speed of 3605 kilometers per hour, and a distance of 7.080.888 km.

Based on its observed size, the Newsweek report says, the diameter of the meteorite, which was first observed in 1992, is 1,345 feet (about 410 meters).

If this estimate is correct, then it means that it will be slightly larger than the "Empire State" building in New York City, which is about 1,250 feet high.

The author stated that the celestial body "1993 px 3" is classified as a near-Earth object, and this term refers to asteroids and comets whose orbits around the sun are close to the Earth's orbit by about 30 million miles.

According to NASA, there are currently about 25,000 celestial bodies close to Earth, and none of them are likely to pose a threat to Earth in the next century or so.

Moreover, asteroids make up the vast majority of this number, although there are only a few comets.

And earlier this month, another massive asteroid passed safely alongside Earth.

The size of this meteor, named "2015 NU13" (2015 NU13), reached 2,230 feet, twice the size of the Empire State Building.

It passed 3.5 million miles from Earth at 4:16 AM ET on January 9, and it was more than 33,700 miles per hour.
