Gelsenkirchen (dpa) - After the death of a 19-year-old after an argument with at least eight people in Gelsenkirchen, three suspects were arrested.

The 28, 32 and 33-year-old men are accused of manslaughter and dangerous bodily harm in unity with attempted manslaughter, as the public prosecutor in Essen and the Gelsenkirchen police announced on Sunday evening.

All three suspects were born in Afghanistan;

two live in Gelsenkirchen, one is registered in Munich.

According to the investigators, a knife was also used in the dispute in the parking lot of a discounter late on Friday evening.

The 19-year-old Afghan-born with a residence permit in Germany left the scene of the crime seriously injured, collapsed and died.

The background is still unclear.

A 19-year-old man from Cologne, who was involved in the dispute and was seriously injured, is in mortal danger.

A 22-year-old from Essen, who initially fled from the crime scene after the confrontation, has since been identified.

He is also in hospital with serious injuries.

"The aim of the difficult investigation is now to determine the background and causes of the dispute and to find other people involved in the dispute," it said.
