President Moon Jae-in said "I don't think it's a political purpose" to the auditor's audit and the prosecution's investigation of the early shutdown of the Wolseong nuclear power plant.

President Moon replied like this after receiving a question at a New Year's press conference held today (18th) at the Cheongwadae Chunchugwan,'There are criticisms in the passport that the Wolseong nuclear power plant audit and investigation have a political character.

President Moon explained, "Because the first audit of the Wolseong nuclear power plant was decided by the National Assembly, the second audit is done to the minimum extent due to the public interest audit claim."

He added, "Also, I don't think the auditor should do it for political purposes."

"The prosecution's investigation is also based on the transfer from the auditor at the time, but I don't think that any further investigations for political purposes were made," he said.

President Moon emphasized, "We are confident that we have kept the principle of not intervening in the audit of the auditor or the prosecution investigation for the independence of the auditor and the neutrality of the prosecution."
