Mainz (dpa / lrs) - In an apartment fire in an apartment building in Mainz Neustadt, several people were injured on Sunday.
Five patients were brought to hospital with smoke inhalation, the fire department announced.
The fire broke out in an apartment on the second floor.
Several people therefore had to be rescued by the fire department using a turntable ladder.
Since the gas and heating had to be turned off after the fire, the house is currently uninhabitable.
The cause of the fire and the amount of damage were initially unknown.
