Rostock (dpa / mv) - The Rostock Volkstheater will sell 30 costumes from the theater fund from next Wednesday.

The sale of costumes has a long tradition and, in contrast to previous years, has to be done online due to the corona pandemic.

The special one-offs made of selected fabrics are sold to the highest bidder.

But it is not an auction, as theater speaker Ute Fischer-Graf emphasized.

Ten dresses will be put online on three dates (January 20, 27 and February 3).

The proceeds from the sale go into the budget of the Volkstheater.

It is exclusively about collector's items from past productions, the oldest is around 20 years old.

The actors and singers slipped into their clothes for the photos that are presented on the Internet and filled them with life.

All dresses are tailor-made one-offs, said Fischer-Graf.

Because of the contact restrictions, however, they cannot be tried on by interested parties and may have to be adjusted after purchase.

The costume director of the Volkstheater, Jenny-Ellen Fischer, hoped that in this way all the clothes that she parted with with a heavy heart would find buyers and that despite Corona something like a carnival atmosphere would arise.

"Even if you can't really celebrate this year, it may be fun for a lot of people to bring a little theatrical feeling into the house with the costume."
