The American "Pfizer" group and the German "Biontech" confirmed that the slowdown and limited delay in delivering their vaccines to Europe is only a temporary matter, and there is a plan drawn up by the alliance of the two companies to raise manufacturing capabilities, while many countries continue to tighten restrictions to combat the emerging Corona virus (Covid-) 19).

European countries rely on the "Pfizer and Biontech" vaccine to control the epidemic, while the continent faces a second epidemic wave with the spread of a modified British version of the virus, which scientists believe is 74% more capable of transmitting infection.

"Pfizer and Biontech" tried to reassure the Europeans, confirming in a joint statement that they had put in place a plan that would allow to reduce the week-long delay in delivering vaccines, and allow for increasing manufacturing capabilities in Europe, and providing more vaccines.

The statement indicated that the reason for the delay was the occurrence of "adjustments to production mechanisms" at the Belgian factory Pors, which would allow for an increase in delivery capacities as of February 15th.

Meanwhile, restrictions have been tightened in many countries, especially with the outbreak of mutated versions of the virus, and the number of deaths from the virus in France has exceeded 413,000 people who received the vaccine, the threshold of 70,000, and the government imposed a night curfew as of 18:00. It takes effect, and it lasts for at least 15 days in the country.

Italy has banned flights from Brazil, due to the discovery of a new version of the Corona virus, and will re-impose a general lockdown in three regions where the risk of infection is high.

In Britain, British Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab said that the government is studying all possible measures to confront the possible outbreak of new strains of Corona virus.

According to Bloomberg News, Raab said that restrictions at the border would be strengthened and refused to rule out quarantine hotels for those coming to Britain.

Raab added in an interview with Sky News that he hopes that the restrictions imposed in Britain will begin to be eased by early spring, in light of the continuing campaign of vaccination against the Corona virus.

It is noteworthy that England has entered the second week of the lockdown that was imposed, and the ministers pledged that 15 million citizens of the most vulnerable groups will get infected with the virus by mid-February.

In Colombia, the authorities imposed a strict closure, while hospitals had reached their maximum capacity.

In Brazil, as a result of the lack of oxygen in hospitals in Manaus, residents of big cities knocked on pots as a protest against the right-wing president, Jair Bolsonaro.

In Israel, the official in charge of the Corona file in the Ministry of Health, Nahman Ash, said that it was inevitable that the current closure would be extended for another week.

He explained in an interview with the Israeli "Kan" radio that the new data on the state of illness, and the increasing number of deaths and injuries, mean the need to extend the closure, and there will be no other option.

In a related context, the Israeli Ministry of Health announced the expansion of the Coronavirus vaccination campaign to include other groups of people aged 45 years and over.

So far, about 2.2 million people have been vaccinated, of whom nearly 200,000 have received the second dose.

The Israeli Prisons Service said that it intends to vaccinate all its prisoners, including the Palestinians, against the emerging corona virus, after the criticism that the Israeli government has been subjected to in this regard.

On the other hand, the Spanish government ruled out a new closure, despite the high number of injuries since the holidays.

But it may allow areas in the country to increase the number of curfew hours.
