Stuttgart (dpa / lsw) - After the federal government tightened the rules for returnees from risk areas abroad, Baden-Württemberg has also revised its corona regulation.

The new regulations will apply on Monday (January 18), as the Ministry of Social Affairs announced on Sunday evening.

Anyone returning from an area in which more contagious virus variants are circulating must bring a negative corona test result with them upon entry.

There is a quarantine obligation.

It is not possible to shorten the quarantine period with another test.

Entry must be registered electronically.

So-called virus variant areas are currently South Africa, Great Britain, Ireland and Northern Ireland - and from Tuesday also Brazil.

Anyone entering from a high-incidence area must also register their entry electronically and take a negative test with them.

There are exceptions to the test requirement in a few cases.

There is also an obligation to quarantine.

There are currently no such high incidence areas abroad, it said.

Exempt from the obligation to test are, for example, those who are passing through, cross-border commuters and cross-border commuters or those who transport people, goods or goods across borders for work.

Almost all states are currently considered a risk area

In general, the following applies: Evidence of the negative test must be kept for ten days and presented to the competent authority upon request.

Children under six years of age are exempt from the obligation to test.
