Düsseldorf (dpa / lnw) - The NRW Ministry of Health does not expect any restrictions for the state in the coming week after the vaccine delivery delays announced by the pharmaceutical company Pfizer.

However, less could possibly be delivered in the following week.

As far as the ministry is aware, the planned delivery in the coming weeks is "confirmed in the promised order of magnitude," said a spokesman at the weekend on request from the German press agency.

The country expects delivery on January 19th as announced.

"The restrictions will probably affect the planned deliveries from the 4th calendar week."

Reliable information on this is not yet available.

As the partner of the Mainz-based manufacturer Biontech announced on Friday, the group expects a restriction in corona vaccine deliveries in Europe in the coming weeks.

Measures to increase production at the Puurs plant in Belgium would "temporarily affect deliveries from late January to early February".

The Federal Ministry of Health in Berlin initially assumed that the pharmaceutical company would not be able to deliver the amount of corona vaccine that had already been promised in the next three to four weeks.

At first it was unclear how many vaccine doses would not be available for the time being.

As of Friday, 248,917 people were vaccinated against Corona, as can be seen on the homepage of the NRW Ministry of Health.
