The Director of Strategic Communications at the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Hind Maneh Al-Otaiba, confirmed - yesterday, Saturday - that her country "continues to deal positively, politically and in the media, in the interest of the region," denying any relationship between the UAE and the London-based Al-Arab newspaper.

The newspaper had published an article about the Saudi "The Line" project, which it considered to be tweeters and observers offensive to the Kingdom. It also published an article in which many saw it as offensive to the State of Kuwait and its symbols.

On her official Twitter account, Al-Otaiba said, "The UAE continues to deal positively in the media and politically, knowing that it is in the interest of the region. Some people continue to try to link the UAE with what it has no connection with."

She continued by saying, "Consumed phrases and inspired by crises, such as those supported by the UAE and belonging to the Emirates and others, have become a weapon for the impotent who does not want to see things as they are. An example of this is the UAE's loading of what was reported by the London-based Al-Arab newspaper, which is definitely not affiliated with the Emirates."

The London-based Arab newspaper published an article about the "The Line" project in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, entitled "Establishing Arab smart cities does not mean that societies are smart," which is considered by many to be "offensive" to Riyadh.

The Kuwaiti Ministry of Foreign Affairs previously published a statement on January 7 regarding what it considered "offensive" by the newspaper against Kuwait and its symbols, noting that it had contacted the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs and expressed its dissatisfaction with what was published in this regard.

According to a Kuwaiti official statement published on Friday, “Officials at the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation have expressed their categorical rejection of any abuse of those relations, or of the symbols of the State of Kuwait who enjoy the highest levels of appreciation and respect, and their pride in the fraternal relations that bind the two brotherly countries, and it will not be acceptable or It is permitted to offend their high status.
