• A couple of socialist mayors of Alicante are vaccinated because "there were too many doses" in their clinic

  • Another Valencian mayor admits to having been vaccinated due to the lack of plan for the remaining doses

The PSPV has suspended their membership on a precautionary basis and has opened a disciplinary file against the three Valencian mayors of El Verger (Ximo Coll), Els Poblets (Carolina Vives) and Rafelbunyol (Fran López) who received surplus covid vaccines despite not being from the risk groups stipulated by the Ministry of Health.

The measure was announced this afternoon by the party, which has regretted "the wrong decision" of the three municipalities who received the vaccine against the provisions of health protocols.

"This decision cannot cloud the great work that both health workers and public officials are doing in managing the health, social and economic crisis," they point out from the PSPV in an official statement.

The party has remarked that in a situation as complicated as the current one, in which both health workers, the security forces and all citizens in general are making great efforts to overcome this pandemic, "the action of public officials it should be more exemplary if possible. The decision to accept vaccines does not meet the criteria of responsibility required of a public office at a time when, in addition, health resources are very limited. "

For all this, the PSPV has announced the decision to initiate a disciplinary file and provisionally suspend the membership of the three councilors of Alicante and Castellón until analyzing what happened.

The socialist formation has emphasized that these are specific cases and has detached its action from "the work that mayors, mayors, councilors and so many public officials are doing who are responding in an exemplary way to the political responsibility entrusted to them by the citizens at the polls. ".

Finally, the party has reiterated its gratitude and appreciation to all health workers, public and essential services for their efforts in recent months.
