A 49-year-old Algerian citizen - homeless, irregular and with a criminal record - already in prison since 2017 for other crimes is now also held responsible for the rape on that woman guilty only of crossing him in the wrong place at the wrong time.
The breakthrough in the investigation of the 'cold case' was made possible thanks to the correspondence of the genetic profile found on some cigarette butts found at the time of the violence, which took place in August 2006, and the salivary swab performed on the suspect in the prison of San Vittore.
