Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan announced today, Saturday, that his country will open its embassy in the Qatari capital within days, and for his part, his Jordanian counterpart confirmed the depth of interests between Amman and Riyadh, their coordination in important files, and the congruence of their visions on the Palestinian issue.

This came in a joint press conference held by the two ministers today in the Saudi capital, Riyadh.

Bin Farhan said that "our embassy in Doha will be opened after completing the necessary procedures within days."

"Saudi Arabia will restore full diplomatic relations with Qatar," he added.

He stressed that the statement of the Al-Ula summit - which was held on January 5 in Saudi Arabia, during which it was agreed on the Gulf reconciliation - will positively affect the role of the Cooperation Council.

Joint Action

On the other hand, Jordan's Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi emphasized the depth of relations with Saudi Arabia, and affirmed the congruence of their vision on the central Arab issues.

Safadi said that Jordan thanks the brothers in Saudi Arabia for the continuous support to face economic challenges.

He added, "We appreciate the sisterly kingdom for sponsoring half a million Jordanians working in their second country, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia."

"We proceed from the vision of our two leaderships that we have many interests together, and we are proud of the joint work," he added.

Safadi explained that he discussed in Saudi Arabia important regional issues and opportunities that "can be achieved for the benefit of the peoples of the region."

He stressed that "the Palestinian issue is the same position of the two kingdoms. We want a just and comprehensive peace that embodies the two-state solution."
