1128 new infections were registered within 24 hours.
The number of cases reported since the beginning of the pandemic rose on Saturday (as of midnight) to 157 255, according to data from the Robert Koch Institute in Berlin.
The number of deaths related to the virus increased by 64 to 3,907.
Within seven days, 128.9 new infections per 100,000 inhabitants were reported nationwide.
The 7-day incidence was highest on Saturday in the Fulda district at 307.0.
