Emsdetten (dpa / lnw) - Breathe a sigh of relief for dog owners in Emsdetten: According to a decision by the Münster Administrative Court, a dog salon is allowed to reopen despite the corona pandemic.

Elisa Kloppenburg is now looking forward to the return of animal customers.

After a forced break from December 16 to January 10, a dog congestion has built up in front of the clippers.

«I'm usually only open half a day.

Now I have to work full time for the next two to three weeks to groom all the animals, ”said the 46-year-old from the German press agency.

The single mother of three children moved from France to Münsterland 26 years ago.

In December, the city of Emsdetten had put a stop to her business.

Because it does not provide food or everyday goods, it has to close.

The Münster Administrative Court saw things differently.

According to the Corona Protection Ordinance, trades and services may continue to be offered as long as a minimum distance to the customer of 1.5 meters can be maintained.

According to the judges, this is the case with Elisa Kloppenborg.

The dogs would be received at the door, keeping the distance, and payment would be made in cash in a can on the bank at the door.

The prohibited hairdressing services relate exclusively to humans, according to the court, not to dogs.

Older people in particular would be happy that their animals could go to the hairdresser again, says the salon operator.

However, they would only hand over their dogs at the door with a heavy heart.

The accompaniment to the clipper is often important to the elderly.

"But then I would be a possible distributor of the coronaviruses, so most customers are reasonable," says Kloppenborg.

When her salon was forced to close, she had a lot of advice over the phone.

«Some customers bought clippers.

And I had to urge caution.

I know a dog owner who cut a tendon in his animal. "
