Neuss (dpa / lnw) - A gas leak in Neuss main station caused restrictions in rail traffic on Saturday morning.

For about an hour, the cleared main station was closed to both visitors and rail traffic, as the fire brigade announced.

When the emergency services cut off the gas supply for the entire building, the readings quickly dropped.

After extensive ventilation, an energy provider took over the search for the gas leak.

Employees at the station noticed a strong smell of gas in the morning and immediately alerted the fire department.

The incident led to delays, partial failures and blocked sections of the route in the Neuss area, the railway announced via Twitter.
