January 16, 2021 Fear at Frankfurt airport, Germany. Travelers have been evacuated following a police operation, while dramatic videos have been posted on social media showing an officer pointing a gun at someone on the ground.
Terminal 1 of the German hub suffered a "mass evacuation" due to a bomb scare. This was reported by the German newspaper Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung. Authorities have confirmed that a "police operation" is currently underway. Two people who left a suitcase unattended were arrested.
The airport train station was closed and all flights were blocked, it was reported.
At the moment, no bombs have been found.
