The Dubai Health Authority stated that it is implementing a mechanism to monitor and follow up on those who have received the "Covid-19" vaccine, which begins with them being observed within 20 minutes of receiving the vaccine in one of the authority's centers, and continues until the second dose is obtained, and continues after the completion of the two doses, in order to monitor any Effects that vaccine recipients may experience.

The Executive Director of the Supportive Medical Services and Nursing Services Sector and Chair of the Steering Committee for the Vaccination of "Covid-19" in the Authority, Dr. Farida Al-Khaja, told "Emirates Today" that the monitoring and follow-up mechanism implemented by the authority aims to ensure that no side effects appear to the vaccine recipients. Confirming that none of them had symptoms or health problems monitored or reported.

And she stressed the safety of the vaccine, calling on those targeted in the first stage to take the initiative without hesitation, to support the state's efforts to combat the disease.

The vaccination campaign is carried out in two phases: the first began on December 23 last year, and targeted priority groups of citizens and residents, in categories that include senior citizens, elderly residents, people with chronic diseases, members of the first line of defense and vital jobs, while the second phase targets all segments the society.

Al-Khaja stated that the authority aims to achieve societal immunity, by covering at least 70% of the emirate’s population, adding that the vaccine is safe and effective to prevent “Covid-19”, calling on all groups of society, especially priority groups, to take the initiative to take it.

And she said: "Given the health risks of the disease, and the possibility of infection again, those who have recovered from it must take the vaccine," noting that there is no information about the percentage and duration of protection after infection with the virus.
