Dresden (dpa / sn) - The volleyball women of the Dresdner SC started the new year successfully.

The team of trainer Alexander Waibl fulfilled its mandatory task on Saturday evening and clearly prevailed 3-0 (25:22, 25:22, 25:17) at the penultimate USC Münster.

The Elbe city team celebrated their sixth victory in a row in the Bundesliga and consolidated their second place ahead of the top game against Schwerin on Wednesday.

The Dresden women found their way into the game and created a lot of pressure, especially with their tasks.

Gradually, the USC put up more resistance and after a clear deficit managed to equalize 17:17.

In the final phase, however, the favorite showed strong nerves, top scorer Maja Storck (14 points) finished the game.

The second round was also contested for a long time, but again the five-time German champions played out their individual strengths in attack and defense.

In the third section, the resistance of the USC, which now made many minor mistakes, was quickly broken.

After 81 minutes, DSC captain Lena Stigrot transformed the match point into a deserved victory.
