Berlin (dpa) - The German Football League has praised the offensive handling and the reactions of Union Berlin and Bayer Leverkusen to the racism allegations at the Friday evening game of the Bundesliga.

«Racism has no place in our society and therefore also in football!

We are therefore grateful to 1. FC Union Berlin and Bayer 04 Leverkusen that both clubs positioned themselves quickly and clearly immediately after the game, ”tweeted the DFL on Saturday.

The control committee of the German Football Association wants to investigate the allegations.

"There is a suspicion that the Berlin player Florian Huebner could have racially insulted his Leverkusen opponent Nadiem Amiri, whose parents come from Afghanistan," said the DFB.

At the beginning of the week, appropriate investigations are to be started.

All parties involved should comment on the incident in the final phase of the game.

According to Amiri's team and DFB colleague Jonathan Tah, the words "Shit Afghans" are said to have been uttered in the direction of the German national player Amiri.

Amiri has already accepted an apology from Hübner.
