Hanover (dpa / lni) - Most people in Lower Saxony are likely to accept lockdown and mask requirements in order to master the corona pandemic.

But there are exceptions: children's birthdays, private parties or even a meeting of four young people that was streamed on the Internet.

Since the first lockdown in spring 2020, a total of 1,534 relevant investigations have been received by the public prosecutor's offices across the country.

Most of them concern so-called administrative offenses, i.e. fine proceedings, said a spokesman for the Lower Saxony Ministry of Justice of the German Press Agency.

These 1255 administrative offense proceedings deal with many different allegations - from violations of the distance requirement to masks that are not worn to unauthorized bars or restaurants, the spokesman said.

However, there have also been 279 criminal investigations so far, including violations of quarantine orders.

But it can also be about violations of conditions that a person with Covid-19 "commits in the awareness of his illness".

For example in Göttingen, where a 27-year-old is said to have gone to the gym in May 2020 despite a corona infection.

The prosecution brought two charges of attempted dangerous bodily harm in the case.

Employees of the city of Göttingen are said to have recognized the man.

The 27-year-old has endangered the health of other people.

Sometimes there are almost bizarre situations when the violations are exposed: At a twin birthday in Hameln, it was obviously quite clear to the 30 adults and children recently that their celebration was illegal in view of the Corona rules, because: They were still trying to get away from the To hide officials.

One woman locked herself in the toilet with five children; others crawled into closets or hid behind doors.

The celebration was nevertheless dissolved and administrative offense proceedings initiated against the 15 adults.

Every adult can expect a fine of 150 euros.

In Moringen in the Northeim district, two women and two men streamed a meeting on the Internet.

The result: because the young people came from four different households, the police ended the meeting.

Here too, administrative offense proceedings were initiated.
