Rostock (dpa / mv) - The chambers of crafts in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania show incomprehension for the decreed complete closure of craft training institutions in the state.

Especially in comparison to the still permitted face-to-face teaching for final classes of vocational schools, this step is not understandable, as the chambers of crafts announced.

"This unequal treatment to the vocational schools is in view of the common goal of guaranteeing the vocational qualifications at least for the final classes, incomprehensible and unacceptable," said the President of the Chamber of Crafts, Axel Hochschild.

Also in comparison to other federal states - such as Hamburg, Thuringia and North Rhine-Westphalia - the closure appears unjustified.

«Professional practice cannot be taught online in distance learning.

With a view to securing skilled workers, we need every craftsman, ”continues Hochschild.

For the implementation of face-to-face lessons, the training centers are set up to comply with hygiene regulations.
