January 16, 2021 Tension is growing in the United States in anticipation of the Inauguration Day. Maximum security levels to contain protests and possible criminal behavior.
The Capitol Police in Washington arrested a man, Wesley Allen Beeler, originally from Virginia, who attempted to pass one of the checkpoints installed in the US federal capital.
The man, who carried a gun and over 500 bullets, had false credentials for Joe Biden's inauguration ceremony.
The arrest, CNN reports citing a police source, took place on Friday evening.
The man, according to the police report, attempted to cross the roadblock with his van.
Among the crimes for which he was arrested, that of illegal possession of firearms.
