The third row Alexandre Fischer was called up by the XV of France to serve as a training partner during the preparation camp for the Six Nations Tournament, said Clermont coach Franck Azéma.

"Alexandre Fischer will be a partner player for the first three days before coming back with us on Thursday," explained the Jaunards coach.

Fischer will therefore accompany winger Damian Penaud (24 years old, 17 caps) in Nice for the preparation camp for the Blues, scheduled from February 24 to 4.

The 22-year-old third row, never selected in A, had already been called up at the start of his term by Fabien Galthié but he was injured after the victory against England (24-17) at the opening of the 2020 Tournament.

The coach unveiled on Monday the list of 37 players summoned for the first meeting of the Six Nations 2021, on February 6, against Italy.

This group of 37 players will be supplemented by five "training partners" under the agreement signed between the National Rugby League (LNR) and the FFR.

However, they will not be able to play the weekend match or come from a club that already has more than one player selected in the 37s.

The scrum half of Mont-de-Marsan (Pro D2) Léo Coly, international under 20, is also part of "training partners", according to his club.

Tuesday, a few hours after a technical meeting with the FFR, the Minister of Sports Roxana Maracineanu had demanded more health guarantees for the trips of the XV of France in Ireland and England.
