Bremen (dpa) - Storm talent Nick Woltemade will stay with Bundesliga club Werder Bremen beyond the summer.

The 18-year-old striker extended his expiring contract according to club information on Friday.

The Hanseatic League gave no information about the duration.

"We see a lot of potential in him to assert himself permanently in the Bundesliga at Werder Bremen," said sports director Frank Baumann.

"Nick is one of our most promising talents," added coach Florian Kohfeldt.

Born in Bremen, he joined the four-time German champions in 2010 and has so far played eleven Bundesliga games for Werder.

Recently, however, the negotiations stalled.

"In the discussion process over the past few months, Nick was primarily concerned with observing his development and the development of the club," explained Baumann.
