Berlin (dpa / bb) - In the second Berlin vaccination center in the Erika-Heß-Eisstadion, the vaccine from manufacturer Moderna was injected for the first time on Friday.

139 doses had been administered by evening, said Moritz Quiske, spokesman for the Senate Department for Health.

He hadn't heard of any concerns about this vaccine.

Berlin had meanwhile had doubts as to whether the first Moderna batch was correctly cooled when it was delivered on Tuesday.

The Federal Ministry of Health then declared the charge to be harmless.

Therefore, vaccination with Moderna started one day late.

With the first delivery, fewer than 1000 more Moderna cans are available in Berlin for the first vaccination.

The third vaccination center in Berlin is due to start operations on Monday morning.

It is located on the Berlin exhibition grounds in the Charlottenburg district.

The vaccine from Biontech / Pfizer, which has already been used in Berlin's largest vaccination center in the arena hall in Treptow, will be used there.

Around 1000 vaccinations per day are expected.

At full capacity, 3800 vaccinations per day should be possible.

As before, that depends on the amount of vaccine delivered.

It is therefore not yet known when the other three Berlin vaccination centers will start.
