Wiesbaden / Gießen / Kassel (dpa / lhe) - Two urgent proceedings against the 15-kilometer rule due to the corona pandemic are pending before the Hessian administrative courts.

However, no decision has yet been made, said court spokesmen in Wiesbaden and Gießen on Friday.

The proceedings are directed against general directives from the districts of Gießen and Limburg-Weilburg.

The administrative court of Giessen expects a decision in the coming week.

The 15-kilometer rule limits the radius of movement of residents around their place of residence if the number of new corona infections per 100,000 residents is over 200 on three consecutive days.

In Hesse, corresponding regulations apply in the Vogelsberg district, the Limburg-Weilburg, Gießen and Fulda districts.

Lawyers have already expressed doubts about the legality.

The rule is based on an ordinance of the State of Hesse, but is decided by the local authorities.

That is why complaints are first submitted to the administrative courts.

The administrative court in Kassel is responsible in the second instance.

So far, only one complaint procedure has been received there in connection with the extended lockdown, said a spokesman.
