The rioters who stormed the US Capitol last week wanted to kidnap and kill politicians.

Prosecutors from the US Department of Justice claim this, who are engaged in the prosecution of the self-proclaimed 'shaman' Jacob Chansley on Friday.

Chansley was part of the group of Donald Trump supporters who broke into the Capitol when the presidential election results were endorsed there.

Justice reports that Chansley left a note for Vice President Mike Pence, saying, "It's a matter of time. Justice is coming."

During the authorities' investigation, evidence that other rioters "intended to imprison and murder elected officials" would also have emerged, the judiciary said.

"Chansley has spoken openly about his belief that he is an alien - a higher being who is here on Earth to travel to another reality," the prosecutors continue to write.

They suspect the thirties of, among other things, participating in an "uprising" with the aim of overthrowing the government.

Justice is prosecuting dozens of people for more than 80 assault violations, including looting of offices and assaulting agents.

It would often have taken little effort to track down suspects, because many images of the chaos were shared via social media.

The FBI reports that more than 200 rioters are currently under investigation.

Chansley became known for wearing animal skin and horns during the deadly riots in Washington.
