For three days, two EU trailers have been parked at the petrol station in Lövånger due to the fact that it is too dangerous to use the crew on slippery roads.

- You feel immediately when it gets slippery and snowy, the tractor starts "jazza" back and forth as we only have one drive shaft on the tractor.

Then it is just as good to park and stand still, says Volker Hornung who is a truck driver from Stuttgart in Germany.

And he is supported by Magnus Holmqvist, who is group manager within the traffic police in Västerbotten.

- The vehicle combination with only one traction axle is not really successful so I think those drivers are doing the right thing who find somewhere to park to wait for more suitable weather to drive in with these EU trailers, more people should do that, says Magnus Holmqvist.

Several accidents

Volker Hornung says that he has seen several accidents in recent weeks where EU trailers have folded like a folding knife and skidded off the road.

- But it has not happened to me yet, he laughs and makes the sign of the cross.
