Saarbrücken (dpa / lrs) - Snow and slippery roads have caused numerous traffic accidents in Saarland.

A police spokesman said there were more than 20 weather-related accidents from Thursday evening to early Friday morning.

It remained with sheet metal damage.

There were no injuries.

The number is comparable to the past few days.

A 20-year-old novice driver in Sankt Ingbert lost control of his car on a snowy road and crashed into a parked car, the police said.

Accordingly, the property damage is only minor.

Eyewitnesses are said to have observed how the 20-year-old accelerated while honking his horn and drifting on the street on Thursday evening.

Also on Friday morning, the German Weather Service (DWD) continues to warn of the risk of ice due to frost and partly frozen meltwater.

Snowfall is also possible locally.
