Schwerin (dpa / mv) - Despite the announced delivery bottlenecks of the vaccine manufacturer Biontech-Pfizer in the coming weeks, the corona second vaccinations in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania are guaranteed according to Health Minister Harry Glawe (CDU).

"We can currently have a full vaccination," said Glawe on Friday after a switching conference of the health ministers of the federal states.

This means that those who were vaccinated first would also get the second vaccination.

According to the ministry, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania covered half of the vaccine previously delivered for the second vaccination four weeks after the first injection.

According to the Federal Ministry of Health, the pharmaceutical company Pfizer will not be able to deliver the amount of corona vaccine that has already been promised in the next three to four weeks.

The ministry reported on Friday that this was communicated to the EU Commission and via it to the EU member states at short notice.

A spokesman added that the weekly delivery scheduled for Germany on Monday is proceeding as planned.

The reason for the delivery problems are therefore renovations at the Pfizer plant in Puurs, Belgium.

According to the company, these will serve to increase capacities from mid-February.

All countries in the world except the USA are supplied from Puurs.

Glawe said of the announced delivery bottleneck: “This is not good news.

For our planning, we need clarity on how to proceed as soon as possible. "

There should be more information about the supply chains by next week at the latest.
