Munich (dpa) - The German Ski Association has rated the judgments in the Munich doping trial against the mastermind Mark S. and his accomplices as positive.
"After everything that became known in the course of the process of investigation results, the sentence is absolutely justified," said Stefan Schwarzbach, managing director and board member in the DSV, on Friday the German press agency.
"It is particularly important that the responsible people behind the scenes, who ultimately installed this perfidious doping system and kept it running, are held accountable."
The process based on the anti-doping law was "an important step in the fight against doping".

The Erfurt physician Mark S. had been sentenced by the Munich Regional Court II to a prison term of four years and ten months as well as a three-year professional ban for doping and dangerous bodily harm.
In the first major criminal case in Germany since the introduction of the Anti-Doping Act in 2015, the court also found Mark S.'s four helpers guilty.
The court considered it proven that Mark S. had treated several winter and cycling athletes with blood doping for years.
