Dortmund (dpa / lnw) - Although hair salons have closed due to the corona pandemic, many customers insist on a good haircut from a professional.

The hairdressers came under pressure because customers are calling more and more often and asking to have their hair cut “just quickly”, the Dortmund and Lünen hairdressing guild announced on Friday.

"Supposedly good regular customers even threaten never to come back," said Guild Chief Master Frank Kulig.

"On the one hand, we can understand everyone who longs for something normal in these times, on the other hand, our companies are firmly committed to the Corona regulation."

Visits to customers including haircuts are also prohibited.

The hairdressing salons are - like other parts of the economy - closed until the end of the month.

Looking at appointment requests for February, Kulig was skeptical as to whether the salons could then open again - the appointments might have to be canceled again.

Politicians are considering extending the restrictions.

The industry representative emphasized that “many companies are currently under massive financial pressure”.

Kulig pleaded for Sunday work to be allowed after the closings have ended.

"Why is it not possible to cut your hair within flexible opening hours into the evening hours and also on weekends, for example also on Sundays?" He asked.

"After all, petrol stations, bakers and flower shops are also open on Sundays."

Then the salons could make up for part of their losses.
