Capitol: the rioters wanted to "capture and assassinate elected officials", according to prosecutors

According to the prosecution, Jacob Chansley left a note for Mike Pence's attention on the Senate dais on January 6.

On January 6, during the day

of chaos in the heart of

, elected officials had to go into hiding because they feared for their lives and at least five people, including a police officer, had been killed.

Authorities have since brought charges against rioters, including a man who waved the

Confederate flag

in the Capitol, another who wore a "Camp Auschwitz" sweatshirt and an Olympic swimming champion, Klete Keller.

Note to Pence

According to the prosecution, Jacob Chansley left a note for Mike Pence on the Senate dais where the Deputy Speaker had stood a few minutes earlier, on which was written: " 

Only a matter of time, justice arrives

 ”. 

The man is a regular drug user and is said to have mental problems, according to the file which states that Jacob Chansley " 

has spoken openly about his belief that he is an alien, a higher entity, and that he is here on Earth for rise to another reality

 ”.

Prosecutors are asking that he be kept in detention because of the danger he poses.
