Potsdam (dpa / bb) - The state of Brandenburg presents itself exclusively virtually at the 86th International Green Week (IGL).

In the “BrandenburghalleDIGITAL” there will be “cinematic food” instead of finger food on January 21 and 22, explained Agriculture Minister Axel Vogel (Greens) at a press conference on Friday.

In three to five-minute films, the Brandenburg agri-food industry will be presented and tourism promoted.

According to the ministry, the Syringhof Beelitz, the Ökohof Kuhhorst, the Biohof Schöneiche, Gasthof Reuner, Brandenburger flour from Müllrose and Eberswalder sausage are represented.

The regional umbrella brand Spreewald, the regional seal Elbe-Elster and the certification mark of the biosphere reserve Schorfheide-Chorin are also introduced.

According to the announcement, Agriculture Minister Vogel stated that the demand for regional and organic products had risen again during the corona pandemic.

This is also proven by figures from the Association for Organic Farming Berlin-Brandenburg.

Accordingly, the sales of the organic food trade increased by around 23 percent in the Corona year 2020.

The turnover totaled 715 million euros, in the previous year it was 580 million euros.
