The municipality of Karlshamn closed Åryd's school in 2008 and has since been empty.

Åryd's independent school, which started in 2009, has until now used other premises.

But now the circle has closed, when the students this semester have been able to start at Åryd's school again.

Åryd's independent school bought the building from the municipality for only one kroner.

Parents and school staff were involved during the autumn in refurbishing the premises.

- There has really been a nice turnout around this project.

It feels fantastic that this old school will come into use, says Mårten Frantzen, teacher and principal at Åryd's independent school.

On Friday, the newly renovated school was inaugurated.
