The coach of the French basketball team Vincent Collet called on Friday the experienced Thomas Heurtel as well as the neophyte Maxime Roos among a group of 12 players called to play the last two qualifying matches for Euro-2022.

To face Montenegro and Great Britain on February 20 and 22, the Blues will do without NBA and EuroLigue players, with the exception of Thomas Heurtel (31 years old, 75 caps), currently in conflict with his club from FC Barcelona.

Boulogne-Levallois winger Maxime Roos (25) could experience his first selection for the French team.

At the head of group G of the qualifying tournament, the Blues only need a success to have their place at the Euro.

The competition will take place in September 2022 in Germany, Czech Republic, Italy and Georgia.

The players called up: Andrew Albicy (CB Gran Canaria), Julien Axel (Dijon), Thomas Heurtel (FC Barcelona), Isaïa Cordinier (Nanterre 92), Axel Bouteille (Malaga), Lahaou Konaté (Metropolitans 92), Yakoba Ouattar (Betis Sevilla) ), Maxime Roos (Metropolitans 92), Amath M'Baye (Pinar Karsiyaka SK), Alexandre Chassan (Dijon), Mathias Lessort (AS Monaco), Jerry Boutsielle (Limoges CSP).
