Erfurt (dpa / th) - The municipalities in Thuringia will receive more money from the state this year through financial equalization.

Compared to 2019, 110 million euros more are planned in the municipal financial equalization, as the Interior Ministry announced on Thursday in Erfurt.

A total of around 2.2 billion euros is available.

According to the information, the first quarterly installment of around 439 million euros is currently being paid.

So-called demographic approaches for community and district tasks were introduced for the first time in financial equalization. This is intended to support communities, rural districts and urban districts that have above-average population losses and therefore have a lower right to key allocation. According to the information, around 5.4 million euros are available for these expenses.
