The committee in charge of supervising the Barcelona club presidential elections announced that 3 candidates will be selected from among 9 who have submitted their files to run for the elections - the date of which may be postponed - later this month.
The committee stated that Juan Laporta, Victor Font and Tony Frixa had fulfilled the requirements to run for the presidency of the Catalan club, in the youngest list of presidential candidates since the 2000 elections.
The three candidates succeeded in obtaining the required 2,257 signatures from the club's 110,000 members.
On the other hand, Barcelona will hold talks with the Catalan local government tomorrow, Friday, about whether the next elections will take place as planned or not after the restrictions related to the Corona virus are extended.
Catalonia has extended the restrictions that prohibit people from leaving the areas in which they live - whether for work, study or medical reasons - from January 17 to January 24, the day set for elections.

The Minister of Health in the Catalan government Alba Bergs said that local officials will explain to the club possible scenarios for the development of the virus, adding that Barcelona - and not the local government - will make the final decision.
Juan Laporta, the club's presidential candidate, called for excluding club members from restrictions so that they could vote in the elections, which he said were important for the club to include new players and face financial problems.
Barcelona has run an interim committee with limited powers since Josep Maria Bartomeu resigned last October.
10 polling places have been prepared in Catalonia and elsewhere in Spain, and no online or email voting is permitted.
