Prohibition of sitting and vehicles gathering on both sides of Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed and the Emirates Roads in Umm Al Quwain

The General Command of Umm Al Quwain Police, in cooperation with the Municipality Department, announced the prevention of the gathering of vehicles and the sitting of individuals on both sides of Emirates Road and Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Street in Umm Al Quwain to reduce traffic risks.

The Umm Al Quwain Police explained that, in cooperation with the Umm Al Quwain Municipality Department, an awareness campaign was launched to prevent the public from gathering and sitting on both sides of Emirates Road and Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Street and not to stop their vehicles on the side of the two streets in the emirate, in order to preserve the general appearance and safety of road-goers, when Parking causes traffic hazards.

She added that the campaign seeks to unify the efforts of all members of society in preserving the environment and public cleanliness, enhancing traffic safety, reducing accidents on the Emirates and Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed streets, and ensuring the smooth flow of traffic.

She pointed out that, signs were placed that prohibit and restrict sitting on both sides of Emirates Road and Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Street, except in emergency cases, and called on the public to adhere to laws and procedures, and to cooperate with police and the municipality to preserve the environment and traffic safety in those areas.

Dozens of vehicles and individuals gather on both sides of the road during the weekend from Thursday evening to Saturday evening every week, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed and the Emirates streets in the Emirate of Umm Al Quwain, in order to enjoy the cold weather and barbecue in the desert areas overlooking both sides of the two roads.
